Plastic surgery in Thailand — things you should know

At NeuMe, we really care about providing you with the best possible overseas cosmetic surgery getaway experience — which is why we'll arrange everything for you, including flights, accommodation and medical procedures.

It's natural to have many questions, and we've outlined some of these below so you can feel completely confident about your decision. Here you'll find some answers to some of the frequently asked questions about cosmetic surgery in Thailand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How safe is it to stay in Thailand?

A. While we cannot guarantee safety in a foreign country, we can say that Thailand is one of the safest countries to travel to for a cosmetic surgery getaway. Our founder, Robina Hill, travels to Thailand frequently and recommends it as a tranquil, peaceful travel destination.

Q. Are the cosmetic surgeons well-qualified?

A. At NeuMe, your health and wellbeing is of utmost importance — which is why you'll only see the most highly skilled and qualified plastic surgeons. All doctors at the hospitals we deal with have a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in plastic surgery. A list of their qualifications and backgrounds is available by request.

Q. Are there plastic surgery finance options available?

A. Yes, of course. Please contact us for more information on our easy installment plan.

Q. Do I get to choose my plastic surgeon?

A. If a previous client has recommended a particular doctor to you we can arrange for this cosmetic surgeon to be in attendance. Otherwise, we will draw on our extensive experience and good relationship with the doctors at the hospital to select the very best plastic surgeon to assist you with your chosen procedure.

Q. Is there a guarantee for plastic surgery in Thailand?

A. Along with the PIAC, we are committed to providing quality service and client satisfaction. Clients are advised that risks are inherently associated with any surgery, and that clients should be fully informed of those risks prior to electing to undertake surgery. Information on surgical, anaesthetic and other risks is available in the relevant information pamphlets on procedures and clients should also fully discuss these risks with their attending surgeon.

If you are healthy without prior medical conditions and have realistic expectations, follow your cosmetic surgeon’s advice and recovery instructions, then you should be pleased with your results. If a problem does arise as a direct result of the plastic surgery or hospital admission that requires corrective surgery, PIAC has a guarantee policy and review process.

Q. What can I expect after the operation?

A. It is important to be realistic about the types of results that can be achieved for your chosen cosmetic surgery procedure. Feel free to discuss the prognosis and your expectations with us and with your plastic surgeon so that you’re well prepared with realistic expectations.

Q. What care is offered for people on their own?

A. We understand that you may need to travel to Thailand for cosmetic surgery on your own — and we take extra care to look after you during this time! You will be assigned a consultant who will take care of you from the moment you arrive in Thailand until the time you leave to begin your new life back home. This includes setting up your initial plastic surgery appointments and arranging any tours you want to go on. Your consultant will also arrange any post-operative care you need and ensure your stay is as comfortable, rejuvenating and relaxing as possible.

The staff members at the hospital are experienced professionals ready to deal with any number of situations. They will provide you with the care and attention you need to overcome any challenges and make a speedy recovery.

If you do not have international roaming, a mobile phone will be made available for you to make calls to loved ones back home.

Q. How much does plastic surgery in Thailand cost?

A. The cost of treatment depends on many different factors, including the type of operation, the length of the stay in hospital, and the recovery period. But one thing’s for certain — cosmetic surgery in Thailand is significantly more affordable than Australia, Europe or the USA.

Because treatment rates can vary from hospital to hospital, it’s worth booking your cosmetic surgery getaway through an experienced medical tourism agent to get the very best price. Agents also often have close links with the hospitals, which allow them to offer you a lower price than advertised.

Simply contact us on email and tell us what kind of procedure you're interested in. We'll give you a price estimate and talk you through your options — so you can make the right decision.
